The world is full of strange, unique and weird animals found in different parts of the world. In fact, there are many strange looking sea species and reptiles, but today we are going to see some of the weirdest animals in the world. This list does not include birds, and sea species.
1. Aye Aye
The Aye Aye is also known as Daubentonia madagascariensis, is the world’s largest nocturnal primate. It is only found in Madagascar, an island nation off the coast of Africa. Aye lemur has a unique appearance with large, glowing eyes, bat-like ears, and an elongated, bony middle finger. They are the only primate to use echolocation method to hunt insects inside the trees. Animal Aye Aye is considered bad luck in Malagasy folklore; however, they are completely harmless.
2. Tarsier
The Tarsier is a small, nocturnal primate found in Southeast Asia. They are tiny monkeys about the size of tennis ball. They have enormous eyes, even larger than their brain, giving them excellent night vision. Animal Tarsier can rotate their head almost 180 degrees. They are known for their shy nature and are now critically endangered.
3. Star Nosed Mole
The Star-Nosed Mole is a small, semi-aquatic mammal found in North America. It is also called Condylura cristata and is one of the most distinctive mammal species. It has a strange, hairless star-shaped nose, which contain over 100,000 nerve endings, making the star-nosed mole one of the fastest eaters in the animal kingdom—it can identify and consume food in just 120 milliseconds.
4. Naked Mole Rat
The Naked Mole Rat is one of the weird looking animals, that has almost no hairs and found in East Africa. It is also known as sand puppy. They are resistant to cancer, and feel little to no pain due to their genetic adaptations. These one of the strangest creatures in the world lives in harsh underground environment, making them a unique biological marvel.
5. Glass Frog
Named for its transparent skin, Glass frogs are a small, nocturnal amphibian found in Central and South America. Sometime you can see its internal organs, including the heart beat and intestines. Transparent frog lives on the trees and comes down only during its mating season. These translucent frogs may look beautiful but are very skilled hunters.
