When we talk about Arunachal Pradesh, one of the first things that comes to people’s mind is Ziro Festival of Music. If you’re someone who loves music, nature, and unique cultural experiences, then the Ziro Festival of Music should definitely be on your bucket list. It is one of India’s most celebrated outdoor music fests, and it definitely deserves to be one. Let’s know why every music lover should experience it once.
What makes it special?
There are many factors that make this music festival very special. First is its location. Ziro Valley is surrounded by paddy fields, mountains, and pine forests. Even this music festival is celebrated on the paddy fields of Ziro. The valley is home to the Apatani tribe, who are known for their warm hospitality and sustainable way of life. The whole music festival is a good example of a sustainable event where minimal plastics are used, stages are made from bamboo and wood, and many eco-friendly camping sites. There are diverse music artists who perform at the event. National, International as well as local artists are invited to perform at the Music Festival Ziro.
Tickets and When to go?
It is a four-day festival that happens each year at the end of September. This year i.e. Ziro Music Festival 2025 is happening from 26th September 2025 to 29th September 2025. All four days are amazing. However, you will find most rush on the last day of the event when some national and international artists perform. Ziro Music Festival ticket price is different for each day. For first day the price is ₹3,100. Second, third and fourth day the price is ₹4,000 each. And if you want to experience each day then you can take a Ziro festival tickets (festival pass) for all four days in ₹9,000. Early Bird Pass has already been sold out. So, you need to plan accordingly.
Where to Stay in Ziro?
There are many homestays, and some hotels are present in Ziro where you could stay. During the Ziro festival, many camps are also built by locals and travel companies. There will be a massive crowd and many stays are already fully booked, so it is very much recommended to do advance booking. I personally stayed at “Lempia Ude Homestay”. Many celebrities who perform at the Ziro Festival of Music also stay here. Even Farahan Akhtar and Kailash Kher also stayed here. It is one of the most famous homestays in Ziro. Here’s their address:

It will give you a beautiful experience dancing barefoot on paddy fields, singing and dancing under the stars between the rolling hills of the Himalayas. It is one of the best outdoor music festivals in the world. Even if you don’t want to go for such an event then too you can explore Ziro and its rich culture, tradition and mesmerising natural beauty.
