Travel Beyond Sightseeing

I have traveled to lots of places, almost all the states in India and Nepal. So, does that mean I have seen all the popular places or did all the sightseeing of those places?

The answer is NO… and I am perfectly fine with it.

I have been to so many places and may have missed some of the best sightseeing spots in some places.

But why?

Because, for me, traveling is being present, living in that moment is what matters more than ticking all the sightseeing spots. I do not want to rush just to tick mark a spot, I want to take my time to enjoy all the little moments and memories I am creating in that place. If time allows without rushing out, I will definitely go. There are lots of times when some tourists come, and they cover all the sightseeing places in a day or two and, on the other hand, I have covered only a few spots. Because this is what traveling and experiencing a place is for me to slow down, to live, to learn, and to grow.

In fact, most of the time I avoid going to popular tourist places. Instead, I find some off-beat location and enjoy my time there, and trust me, my best travel experiences are from those places only.

The rush, excitement and fast-paced adventures of touristic traveling are fun, but again those are for some time you cannot do it all the
time, otherwise it will look like another race. Once in a while, try going to a place with no checklist to cover. Just be there, spend some days talking to the locals, enjoy slow evenings, try being present without being tensed of missing out a spot, observe the surrounding nature.

This is what traveling means to me. A slow life full of adventures, dreams, and life.

Until next time, keep traveling and take care of nature.
