The Three Jyotirlinga of Maharashtra: A Divine Pilgrimage Journey

Maharashtra is blessed with three of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, making it an important spiritual destination for devotees across the world. All Jyotirlinga in Maharashtra are located amidst mountains, forests, and ancient heritage sites. These Jyotirlingas are not only centres of devotion but also places of immense natural and historical significance. The three Jyotirlinga of Maharashtra are Trimbakeshwar, Bhimashankar, and Grishneshwar.

Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga - Origin of Ganga

Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga is one of the unique Shiv temples in the world. This Jyotirlinga is special because the linga here is in the form of three faces representing the Trinity Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh. Lord Shiva manifested here to bless sage Gautama Rishi. He also asked Maa Ganga to flow here as well as Dakshin Ganga (or Godavari). To find out more about Trimbakeshwar and plan your visit, you can read our full blog on Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga here.
