India is home to many haunted places and horror stories. Today we are going to see some of the most haunted places in India:

1. Kuldhara, Rajasthan
Cursed Village, Haunted Village or Ghost Village; Kuldhara is known by all these names. This village used to be very prosperous 300 year ago and now is an abandoned village. In short, the story behind this haunted Kuldhara village is: One day all the villagers decided to leave the village because of the cruelty and oppression from a minister. While leaving the village, they cursed the village that no one would be able to settle in this village. From that time no one was able to stay in Kuldhara village Jaisalmer. Many people have also reported experiencing various para normal activities here making Kuldhara, Jaisalmer one of the most haunted places in India.

2. Jatinga, Assam
Jatinga valley is a famous and only hill station in Assam. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places to visit in Assam. But it also has a mystery and something haunted that is unexplained by anyone. Many migratory birds here commit suicide by flying into buildings and trees at night. Because of this Jatinga is also known as “Bermuda Triangle for Birds”. This happens in a single place of around 1-2 Km distance and during the month of September and October. It has been happening from centuries but no one has any clue why it’s happening. Local people say there’s some evil spirit behind these birds’ death while scientist have no clue about it.
3. Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad
World’s largest film city, Ramoji Film City also has a very haunted side that only few knows. It is said that the land on which it is built used to be the site of a brutal battle during the Nizam and Sultanate era. People claim that soul of some soldiers never left the place. Many paranormal activities have been reported especially in hotel rooms, on sets, and open fields. Many actors and other people have claimed that they were pushed or thrown off from the height by some invisible force. Equipment malfunction without any reason, strange marks on mirror, lights falling on their own are some common phenomena here. Females have reported more aggressive experiences like mysteriously torn clothes, pulling of their hairs and/or sheet during sleep, bathroom door knocking when no one’s around.

4. Dumas Beach, Gujarat
Dumas Beach was once a cremation ground for Hindus, is now a popular tourist spot during day and a very haunted place during night. Many people have mysteriously gone missing during night while walking alone at this beach. Some people who tried to stay at night here have reported being slapped and being pushed by some invisible entity. Some people have also reported strange laugh and their name being called by someone but couldn’t find anyone. Dogs also act strangely here, and howl at no one in dark.

5. Delhi Cantt, New Delhi
Delhi Cantt road is one of the most haunted places in New Delhi. Many people who have crossed this road at night, have reported that a lady in white saree asks for lift if someone stops, she will disappear and if someone does not stop, she runs as fast as the vehicle and will disappear after some time. Some people also claim that the girl seat on their fast-running vehicle. It is said that she died on this road and never left this place. There’s one more haunted woman in Delhi cantonment and she is from colonial era, a British lady in white dress is often seen wandering around is reported by some people.
6. Dow Hill, West Bengal
In the forests of Dow Hill in Kurseong, many locals and tourists have claimed to experienced paranormal activities here. This area is between Dow Hill Road and Forest office, is being called as “Death Road”. It is said that many murders have happened at this place and now those people who got killed here became ghosts and walk in jungle at night. People have reported about seeing a headless boy, woman in grey dress, hearing footsteps following them, various noise and other paranormal activities. Even people heard loud and harsh noise from Boys hostel when it is closed during vacations. Some people even committed suicide after returning from the forest. It is definitely one of most haunted places in the world.
