Chullyu Village, Arunachal Pradesh is located just an hour drive from Ziro. It is a small, peaceful and a hidden village. This beautiful village is a wonderful example of living in harmony with the nature. You will see people are much happier and the village is definitely one of the cleanest villages in India. Even they got a national award for cleanliness way before “Swach Bharat Abhiyan” started. Here I have eaten most tasty Pineapples and you can also experience very tasty Oranges.
Why visit Chullyu Village
No doubt Chullyu have a wonderful scenic beauty but the real reason why you should visit here is, first you will get to experience Agro tourism in Arunachal Pradesh. You will get to see and eat most tasty Pineapples and Oranges. I have not eaten any Oranges as I went there before season but everyone said it is even tastier than Nagpur’s famous Oranges. There is a short “orange trek” in the village which will take you through Orange and Pineapple farms. They export it to different parts of India. Second, you can learn a lot about cleanliness (sustainable living) and how a community should live.
One of the Cleanest Villages of India
Waste management, cleanliness and hygiene starts here at everyone’s home. Everyone segregates waste at their home only. There are big dustbins at every corner of the roads with various compartments for plastic waste, plastic bottle waste, waste clothes, glass waste, sanitary pads and more. They do not use plastic bags. Whole village regularly organise cleanliness drive to keep it clean. Here, everyone considers it their own responsibility to keep the village clean no one points out finger on anyone or government to keep the village clean. It is one of the cleanest villages of India, we all should learn from them. Right now, they are looking for someone who can help them in managing waste sanitary pads.
Happiest Village
I have been to many places in Bharat and Nepal; I can definitely say that the people of this village is definitely one of the happiest and healthiest. And the reason is people of this village help each, play together like young children and do social service. If you visit here on holidays or weekends you will see people of all age coming together for playing games like Volleyball and for various activities. This is also something that everyone should learn from them.

There is total nine homestays in Chullyu and they run all the homestay together. They decide among themselves who will host next guest like there is no competition among themselves they do it together and help each other grow. Best time to visit Chullyu Village
You can visit Chullyu any time of the year. The weather here is very peaceful. It is in middle of Itanagar and Ziro. You can visit here from Itanagar in 3 hours or from Ziro in 50 minutes (approx. 30 Km). It will good if you stay here for few days and enjoy a peaceful time. If you are going to Ziro then you should definitely add Chullyu to your list. You can also attend Ziro Music festival from Chullyu.
