Best Places to Visit in Manikaran

Manikaran, Himachal Pradesh is one of the best places to visit in Himachal Pradesh. It is known for its various religious sites, mountains, treks, and most famous natural hot springs. Let’s see some of the must visit places in Mainakaran, Himachal

1. Ram Mandir

This is a historical (प्राचीन) Ram Mandir and its story connected to Ayodhya🕉️. In 1651, Kullu’s King Jagat Singh had gotten sin of killing a Brahmin due to which he got Leprosy. For curing his illness, he was told by saints to bring Lord Ram’s statue from Ayodhya and establish it in Manikaran🛕🔱. Then King Jagat Singh not only just established this Ram Temple but also dedicated his whole kingdom in feet of Lord Ramchandra👣🙏🏻. And King himself became his servant by faith (सेवक). Soon he also, became disease free and sin free. From that time, it is considered very auspicious temple. Here, you will find two hot water springs (स्नान कुडं). One is Ram Kund for males and other is Sita Kund for females. Here you will get Community kitchen (Langar) twice a day.

2. Manikaran Sahib

Manikaran is also very auspicious place for Sikh community because even Guru Nanak Dev Ji came to Manikaran. Gurudwara Manikaran Sahib is so wonderful that its water boils at this much freezing cold temperature. Also, Guru Nanak Dev Ji did his first meditation here only and had also done many miracles. Once, his disciple Mardana brought food for langar but was unable to cook food because, of freezing cold🥶❄️🏔️. Then Nanak Dev Ji said to Mardana for removing a big stone… Suddenly Hot Water Started flowing ♨️. Until Today, Here in Gurudwara, Sikh community makes food by using only Hot Water, isn’t it miraculous🍲? Here, it is believed very auspicious to cook food in boiling water🪯🍚.

3. Shiv Parvati Mandir

It is believed lord Shiva and goddess Parvati ji did meditation here for 11,000 years 🧘🏻‍♂️🧘🏻‍♀️. During those years, one day while taking bath Maa Parvati ji’s earring’s gem fallen in water💠. For finding that gem Parvati Ji’s Husband Bholenath Ji got angry and opened his third eye🔱👁️😠. Then that gem was found by lord Sheshnaag ji. For returning that gem Sheshnaag ji sprayed so vigorously that it’s burst in the form of hot water ♨️🌊. That is how this place got its name, Gem of Ear means कान की मणि in Hindi Language… that is Manikaran💠. So, this is the must visit place in Manikaran. 

4. Naina Bhagwati Mandir

Naina Devi Mandir is dedicated to Naina Devi – an emanation of Lord Shiva’s third eye. When Shiv ji opened his third eye to find Mata Parvati ji’s earring. Then from that eye Mata Naina Bhagwati was born. It is believed to be the position where Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati used to do meditation. It is built in traditionally Himachali wooden style architect. Naina Devi temple is a must visit place in Manikaran for both historical and spiritual trip. 

5. Harinder Mountain

The Harinder Mountains (also called Harinder Parvat) form a majestic backdrop to Manikaran Sahib in the Parvati Valley of Himachal Pradesh. It is not very famous when compared to other Himalayan mountains. Guru Nanak dev ji climbed Harinder Parvat when he was in Manikaran. There is no formal trek here, but you can go on jungle hikes in deep forest, away from crowd. You will get some of the best views of Harinder Mountains from Manikaran and Parvati River. 

6. Parvati River

The Parvati River is one of the most beautiful and sacred rivers in Himachal Pradesh. It is considered very sacred by Hindus and Sikhs. It is the river in which Goddess Parvati lost her earring. It has many good trekking destinations. You can go on jungle hike or seat on the banks of the river and spend a beautiful and peaceful time.
