Mussoorie also known as the “queen of hills,” is one of the most beautiful hill stations in India. Located around 35 Km from Dehradun this is a must visit place for everyone. Let’s see some of the best places to explore in Mussoorie

1. Lal Tibba

Lal Tibba Mussoorie is the highest point in Mussoorie that will offer you a breathtaking view of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks, and if sky is clear, you may be able to see Kedarnath, Nanda Devi and Bandarpunch peaks from here. At the top of Lal Tibba trek you will find an old binocular house, from where you can use a 1967 telescope for a better view and experience of various Himalayan peaks. Located in Landour, it offers a perfect blend of scenic beauty and historical ambiance. Lal Tibba scenic point is one of the best places to visit near Mussoorie that you should not miss. 

2. Gun Hill

Gun Hill Mussoorie, is the second highest peak in Mussoorie and is one of the most famous places to visit in Mussoorie. During British era when watches are not common and very expensive a cannon was kept at the top here and fired everyday so that everyone knows and manage their time accordingly. That is how Gunhill Mussoorie got its name. You can come up via a short trek of 20 – 30 minutes or using a 10 minutes scenic cable car ride. From top you can have a panoramic view of the snow-clad Himalayas and the lush Doon Valley

3. Mall Road Mussoorie

Mall Road often called as the heart of Mussoorie, is a popular Mussoorie sites to visit. Mall road is a stretch between Picture Palace and Library Chowk, it is lined with colonial style buildings, local shops, cafes, and hotels. It offers a scenic view of the Doon Valley and lively atmosphere making it a perfect place for leisure stroll in evening. You can shop for woollen clothes, and local handicrafts, also enjoy local street food. Best time to visit here is during evening when the Mall Road comes alive with lights and music. This place will give you a retro feeling. 

4. Company Garden Mussoorie

Company Garden is also known as Municipal Garden or Company Bagh. It was established during British era and now is home to over 800 varieties of flowering plants. It has an artificial lake and waterfall offering pleasant boat ride. It also has an amusement park for children and a wax museum featuring lifelike statutes making it a perfect getaway for family outings and spending a beautiful time. 

5. Mussoorie Lake

Located on the Dehradun-Mussoorie Road, it will be the first lake in Mussoorie that you will see. It is man-made lake surrounded by lush green hills, peaceful ambiance and serene views. You can also do boating in Mussoorie here and other activities including giant swing, sky cycling and zip lining. Here you can find lots of local shops and food stalls, you should try some food and stroll through local crafts. It’s a perfect spot for spending a relaxed evening. 

6. Kepty Falls

Kempty falls location is around 15 Km from Mussoorie in Chakrata road. It is one of the most popular tourist places in Mussoorie and Uttarakhand. Kempty waterfall cascades from the height of 40 feet. The word “Kempty” is believed to come from two words “company tea,” it come from various tea parties held here during British era.
