Best Places to Explore in Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh

Nestled in the beautiful and serene landscapes of Arunachal Pradesh, Ziro Valley is a paradise for travelers that is fill with scenic beauty, tribal culture, and soulful experiences. Ziro is the most famous town of Arunachal Pradesh. It is a place where you will experience an immersion into the harmony of nature and tradition. It is known for its paddy fields, rolling hills of the great Himalayas and the most famous Ziro Music Festival. Read this blog on Ziro Festival of Music and if you are going Ziro then you should definitely explore these places. 

1. Paddy Fields

Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh is known for its scenic paddy fields, surrounded by rolling hills. You should definitely go for an evening walk or cycling through these beautiful rice farm. They form an incredible landscape with huts between the fields, surrounded by mountains, apatani tribe women working in their fields. You may also get to meet some of the last apatani women who have their face tattooed and big nose pins. During my stay in Ziro, I went for cycling almost every day, strolling through different bastis (villages), paddy fields, fish farm in the middle of paddy fields and bamboo farms. Bamboo trees of Ziro are different from Bamboo trees of other places in Bharat. You should definitely include it in your list. 

2. Sikhe Lake

Sikhe Lake is a fresh water lake surrounded by lush greenery and pine-covered hills. Around 1.5 km from the main road it is a popular picnic spot that offers boating both motor boat and paddle boat, and scenic walk around the lake. There’s also a butterfly park next to it which has lots of rare and amusing butterfly and moths. It is less crowded compared to the other lake in the region. 

3. Sree Sidheswar Nath Temple

Sree Sidheswar Nath Temple in Ziro Valley is a peaceful place of worship that attracts both devotees and tourists. The temple is home to the tallest naturally formed Shiv ling. It is surrounded by scenic hills and green forest, coming here will show you a different beauty of Ziro that is hidden from the tourists. The naturally formed Shiva lingam here is considered sacred and holds immense religious significance. 

4. Meghna Cave Temple

There’s one more temple Meghna Cava temple. It is 5,000 year old temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple has detailed carvings in Sanskrit scriptures and beautiful ancient architecture. It has a powerful spiritual energy sitting on the top of a hill with a panoramic view of the surrounding valley. 

5. Ziro Valley View Point

Pamu Yalang is the popular sunrise point. From the top you could see the whole Ziro valley. It looks extremely beautiful from here. And during sunrise it looks even more beautiful. The place is also scared for local community. You will get to see very large pine trees. Earlier you need to do a trek to reach here but now there’s road and just a short beautiful hike. 

6. Trekking

There are many trekking options in Ziro. Officially there are only few trekking sites however there are more options. You can go to any nearby jungle hike or hike to the top of the nearby hill. Dolo Mando and Midey are top two trekking sites that you should go. 

7. Where to Stay?

There are many stays in Ziro. However, Ziro is known for its farm so, I would recommend you to stay at this beautiful and lovely farm stay which is located in Siiro. Away from city centre, Siiro itself is an offbeat place and very wonderful place. You will get a wonderful experience here:
