1. Holy Tree at Khinzemane

Zemithang is the first village of India near Indo-Tibet border. It is the place from where many Tibetans came to India seeking refugee during China’s attack on Tibet. Even 14th Dalai Lama came to India in 1959, through this route only. The bordering place is known as Khinzemane, when Dalai Lama entered India, he put his walking staff here between stones. Now that staff has turned into a tree as a living miracle and a reminder of that historic journey. Located at the banks of the Nyamjang Chu river and surrounded by tall mountains, this place attracts both Pilgrims and travelers. Do not miss this place.

2. Gorzam Gompa (Gorsam Stupa)

Gorzam Gompa is one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in Zemithang, Tawang. It is built in the 13th – 14th century by Lama Sangye Pradhar. It is designed after Nepal’s famous Boudhanath Stupa. Every year, the Gorzam Kora festival draws thousands of monks, pilgrims, and locals for a vibrant cultural celebration. The festival is the best time to experience Monpa culture, tradition, their local dances and tasty food.
